<p>We changed minimal required PHP version.</p>

We changed minimal required PHP version.

In coming new Bacularis version 2.1.0 minimal required PHP version will be raised from 7.1 to 7.4. This move is related to switching Bacularis to new version of PHP PRADO framework.

Despite of the PHP 7 is EOL (end of life) we are going to stay with PHP 7.4 support a bit longer because many operating systems still works with PHP 7.4 by default. From systems that we provide binary rpm/deb packages the PHP version lower than 7.4 is in:

  • Debian 10 - default PHP version is 7.3
  • Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic - default PHP version is 7.2

For these two systems the last version for which we provide binary packages is Bacularis 2.0.0. For all rest operating systems we will provide packages as always after each release, nothing changes with it.

NOTE: On some operating systems (CentOS 8, CentOS Stream 8, AlmaLinux 8, Oracle Linux 8, Rocky Linux 8) default PHP version is 7.2. Pease switch PHP to 7.4 as described here: [LINK].

We are sorry for inconvenience for users who use PHP lower than 7.4. We encourage to update it.
